This is a beautiful sunset above the LA skyline. Gorgeous pink, cotton candy cirrus clouds strewn across the sky. The city night life is about to wake up as the metropolitan lights begin to turn on one by one. The skyscrapers are reflecting light from the sunset. It was taken on a freeway drive from a museum, and I was heading towards a play by a small theatre company. In 2020, I became enthralled with clouds and by the sky. I kinda see the sky and the clouds as a frame for our world. I mean they literally sit above us every day. It sets the tone for human activity. This sky brings me joy because it marks a transitionary period (not only from day and night) but from what was an amazing, energetic day at the museum to sitting down at a small theatre. And it’s so meta (and beautiful) to think about how the whole city is transitioning from one activity to the next with the movement of day and night. It connects me to LA and humanity and the world.
